Just believe and the Lamb will arrive!

Lc 21, 5-9

Author: Cecília Pellegrini - Collaboration: Gabriella Pellegrini

(Inspired by the characters from the 3 Little Pigs-Tale)

Once upon a time, there were three Little Pigs who were sisters and each one built their little house in the forest. Naïve made a house of straw, Innocent constructed hers of wood and Smart made hers with bricks.

One day the sisters were each in their little houses, when Little Lamb arrives and calls them: - “Piggies, Piggies!”

Smart recognizes the voice and leaves running: - “Hi, Little Lamb, what a joy to have you here!”

Then she gives him a warm hug.

Little Lamb tells the reason for his visit: "My dear little Smart piggy, I want to say goodbye to you and your sisters.”

Smart notices that the sisters are not there and is uneasy: - “Oh, my sisters? Wait a little.”

She goes to their doors and calls: "Innocent, Naïve come here, the Lamb wants to say goodbye.”

Innocent does not open the door and justifies: - “Ah, now I cannot because I am watching Netflix, because it is the last chapter of the Pig, Little, Liars series that I love. Nevertheless, bye, little Lamb, have a good trip!”

Naïve does not show up and just says: - “I am in Whatsapp talking with my friends! This is very cool! Now I cannot go there. However, All the best, Little Lamb. Good-bye!”

Smart looks very embarrassed." A thousand excuses for my sisters. They are very isolated lately, each one on their own.”

The Lamb tries to reassure her: - “Say I left a hug for them.”

Then he gives a strong hug to the little pig.

Smart makes a promise: "We will continue to do all that the Lord has taught us.”

Little Lord Lamb agrees: - “By doing so I will always be with you. Bye!”

Smart is very sad to say goodbye to his friend.

Soon afterwards, Innocent leaves desperately her little house: - “Smart, what a horrible thing! What a disaster!”

Smart asks," What is it?" Innocent explains: "The TV said that the forest is at war! They are destroying everything: many animals have been killed and those who have been saved are starving... Alas, fear!”

Naïve comes crying: - “Sisters, the danger has come! My ‘porkbook’ friends are suffering on the terrorists' paws! Firearms, bombs, grenades... What a madness!”

Innocent and Naïve hug their sister and say: - “Let's run away!”

Calmly, Smart says, "Take it easy, my sisters!"

Innocent and Naïve do not understand Smart's reaction and ask nervously: "How can you be so calm?"

Smart explains: "Little Lamb said he will come back and I know that he will be able to bring peace again to the forest.”

Innocent says angrily: - “Sorry Smart, but you are being naïve.”

Naïve retorts: - “Come on, the Naïve of the story is I.”

Innocent agrees: - “Ah, really! So Smart is being stupid! Do you have any donkey in the story?”

Naïve confirms: "No, there is no donkey.”

"The two then decide to tease their older sister: "Dumb, stupid...”

Smart does not want to quarrel with her sisters, so she forgives them for the attack and with great conviction says: "For I believe in Little Lamb and He will not let anything bad happen to us. Now excuse me because I have to get ready to go to daycare to help the needy puppies.”

Smart walks slowly into her brick house.

Innocent very distressed warns: - “Naïve, I will go pack my bags and get out before the bad guys, the deceivers, the outlaws come to us.”

Naïve says that she will do the same thing.

Suddenly a Wolf appears in a disguise of a lamb and, changing his voice, greets the future prey: - “Hi Piggies...”

The two sisters are suspicious because they have never seen that animal in the forest, but they return the greeting: - “Hi!”

Innocent, examining closely the visitor tries to guess: - “You are a...”

The wolf in disguise says: - “Lamb? Of course I am! I am the Lord Lamb who came to bring peace and hope to this place.”

Naïve questions: “Wow, but why isn’t Little Lamb with you?"

The wolf, without understanding, utters in response: "Little Lamb?”

Therefore, he starts to think of a good answer and it had to be fast...

Innocent, very serious, insists: "Lamb, answer: why isn’t Little Lamb with you?"

The wolf, very nervous, writhes even more and begins to stutter: “that... why... uh…”

Smart, who was listening to everything appears and says: - “Because you do not even know whom Little Lamb is.”

Naïve and Innocent are surprised: "No?"

The Wolf tries to explain: "Of course I know! Little Lamb is a wolf; I mean a fat, chubby little pig...”

Naïve and Innocent conclude: - “Little Lamb is a little lamb!”

The Wolf, pretending to be clever, tries once more to keep the farce: "Yes, little lamb, that's what I said!"

Smart goes back and removes the disguise of the wolf: "No, your Wolf, that's not what you said.”

Naïve and Innocent despair and, trembling with fear, cry: - “It is the Wolf, it is the Wolf!”

Smart says, "Yes, it's the Wolf, but you do not have to be afraid because he's as desperate as you are, with all that's going on in the forest."

The Wolf is frightened and crying, "Yes, I am! It's so much violence, so much destruction!”

Naïve and Innocent say that it is the end of the world and the Wolf concludes that it is punishment for the evils he and so many animals, including men, did.

The three crying ask: - “What to do?”

Then Smart says, "Pay attention to my song! And begins to sing the song ‘It’s written’, of the Revelation Group, that says:

"Who cultivates the seeds of love?

Go ahead and does not panic

If in life he finds the terror

Will know how to face that hour

Raise up your head step ahead and goes with faith

Send this sadness away

Just believe that a new day will dawn

That the Little Lamb will arrive!"

When they hear Smart Sing, Naïve, Innocent and the Wolf become lively and sing together: - “Just believe that a new day will dawn. The Lamb will come!"

Innocent and Naïve, "You got to have faith, don’t you?"

Smart replies: "Yes, you just have to believe that Jesus will come back!”
